Tip of the Month: Track Your Blood Pressure on Folia

One of the best ways we continue to improve Folia is by listening closely to YOU — the real experts of your own health journeys. After a recent conversation with an incredible IgAN warrior, she shared how life-changing it’s been to consistently track her blood pressure in the app.

Before Folia, she often forgot to take her readings and didn’t have a reliable place to record them. Now, tracking daily is simple — and she’s even been able to compare her numbers with symptoms, treatments, and habits like exercise or hydration to spot patterns and make more informed decisions with her care team.

That’s why our tip this month is to add blood pressure as an observation in Folia — it's quick to set up and can make a big impact.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Folia app
Launch the app on your phone and log in if needed.

  2. Tap the ⚙️ on the navigation bar
That’s the Quick Actions menu — your shortcut to managing what you track.

  3. Select “Manage Observations”
You’ll see a list of what you’re currently tracking. Tap Manage Observations to make changes.

  4. Tap “+ Add New”
At the top of the list, tap + Add New to create a new observation.

  5. Search for “blood pressure”
You’ll see a few different options — choose the one that fits how you want to track:

    • Blood pressure (to enter both systolic and diastolic numbers)

    • High blood pressure (Yes/No format to mark when it’s elevated)

    • Systolic blood pressure (just the top number)

    • Diastolic blood pressure (just the bottom number)

⭐️ Bonus tip: For any observation in Folia, you can set a baseline — your personal “normal.” So if your blood pressure tends to run slightly high or low, make a note of that in the baseline settings. That way, your data reflects what’s typical for you, giving a clearer picture of your health over time.

  6. Return to the home screen and tap the in the bottom right
That’s your shortcut to Quick Track.

  7. Tap “Observations” > “Blood pressure”
Enter your systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number), then tap ✔️ to save.

And that’s it! A small daily habit that can give you — and your care team — powerful insights over time.

Start tracking today and take one more step toward proactive, personalized care.
