We believe you should be compensated for contributing to research
Our organization was founded on the principle that your knowledge matters. Through our own experience as patients and caregivers, we realized there was an unmet need around collecting and organizing our observations in order to improve the care that every patient receives.
Consistent tracking of our observation improves care in the home on an individual patient/family level and in the clinic on a practice level. But, did you know that it also holds promise on a population level?
Our business model, which allows us to provide Folia to patients and families for free, relies on the research component. And we launched Data Dividends to directly recognize the value of patient and caregiver contributions to the healthcare ecosystem.
Who is eligible?
At this time, U.S.-based patients or caregivers are eligible to receive a Data Dividend if they're opted into general research sharing. Caregivers who manage care for multiple patients can earn Data Dividends for each patient.
*Please note that you must not be in an active Folia research program to qualify for general research Data Dividends. Once you finish your research program, it may look like you’re still enrolled in the Research Sharing section of your app. If you would like to join our general research sharing Data Dividends program after you've completed your study, please email us at [email protected] and we will opt you in. You will start earning Data Dividends upon your program completion if you meet the tracking requirement.
How do I check my Research Sharing status?
If you're new to Folia and are not enrolled in one of our condition-specific research studies, you're automatically enrolled in general research sharing. Email us at [email protected] to confirm your current status or make any changes.
If you're opted out, your data will not be shared in any future research studies and you will not be eligible for a Data Dividend payment. If your data was contributed to a past research study, the researchers will not have access to any of your future Folia data.
You qualify for research payments by tracking at least once per week. You can earn up to $48 per year, and you will receive your Dividends payment on a quarterly basis if you've met the tracking requirement, and they will be sent to your Folia app on the 28th of January, April, July, and October.

How to get your Data Dividends payments with Tremendous
The structure of the Data Dividends program is remaining the same, but the way you get your payments is expanding to include 100+ more options. This means more flexibility for you!
Here are the steps to access your payment (A visual guide is below):
We're excited to share that you are now able to access and redeem your research payments either right in the Folia app or on any web browser like before.
To redeem in the Folia app:
Click on the Profile tab (bottom right of screen)
Click on “Research Payments”
Redeem your available payments!
To redeem from a web browser:
Log into your Folia profile (app.foliahealth.com) on a web browser (on a mobile device or on a computer).
Click on “View Payments” in the Research Payments section
Redeem your available payments!
You will be brought to the Tremendous platform. This is where you choose what type of payment you want to receive and which email to send it to. You will have to input all of your information so Tremendous knows where to send your payment.
The options are endless! You can choose from a plethora of gift cards, or visa cards. Enjoy your reward for contributing to research.
