Spring is supposed to boost your mood… so why do I feel off, and how do I reset my health?
If you’re coming out of winter feeling a little out of sync, you’re not alone. The shift in seasons brings the expectation of a fresh start, but it can take time for your body and routines to catch up.
Winter often disrupts the habits that keep us feeling our best. Less sunlight, less movement, and more time indoors can leave you feeling off, even as the weather improves.
The good news is you do not need a full reset. A few small, intentional changes can help you ease back into healthier habits and feel more like yourself again.
If you are looking for an easy place to start, begin here:
🧹 Clean your space
This is one we hear every year, like clockwork. It is the classic meaning of spring cleaning. And although it may feel like a cliché, there is a lot of truth to it. Cleaning your space has real benefits for both your mental and physical health.
So take the time to clear clutter, wipe down surfaces, and open the windows if you can. Physically, this helps reduce dust, allergens, and bacteria that build up over the winter months. It can improve air quality and even help with things like allergies and respiratory irritation.
Mentally, a clean space can create a sense of calm and control. When your environment feels organized, it is easier to focus, relax, and stay consistent with your routines.
This can also be a good time to rethink your cleaning products. Many conventional products contain harsh chemicals that can impact your health over time. Switching to cleaner alternatives can make a difference, especially if you are using them regularly.

🌿 Stock up on allergy meds (and maybe a few vitamins too)
Surprise, surprise. Spring has sprung, and so have your seasonal allergies.
As the earth continues to thaw, allergens increase, and symptoms can creep up quickly. They have a way of sneaking up on you, even when you know they are coming. Getting ahead of it can make a big difference in how you feel day to day.
Since allergy medications are easy to access, it is also easy to forget to restock them. A few simple ways to stay ahead:
Buy in bulk from stores like Costco or Sam’s Club so you are covered for the full season
Set up auto-delivery through Amazon or your pharmacy
Add medications to your Folia app and include refill dates with reminders
You can also use this time to think about other supplements or vitamins you may need as you transition into a new season.
☀️ Buy sunscreen
You might be thinking this feels a little early, but if you are not already wearing sunscreen daily, this is your sign to start.
It is not surprising that many of us slack on sun protection during the colder months. But as the weather warms up, the sun gets stronger too. That means more exposure, even on days that do not feel particularly hot.
This is actually a great time to stock up:
● You will use it more than you think, even in early spring
● It is often less expensive now than in peak summer months
● You will be prepared before you need it

💧 Reset your daily habits
Everyone’s daily habits look different, so take a moment to reflect on yours. Which ones are adding to your life, which are not, and which ones have fallen off that you want to bring back?
If this feels overwhelming, start with the fundamentals:
Are you drinking enough water?
Are you getting enough sleep?
Are you moving your body in a way that feels manageable?
These are often the first things to slip during the winter months, but they are also the easiest place to start rebuilding.
For example, something as simple as getting a water bottle you actually like can help you drink more consistently. If sleep has been off, this could be a good time to experiment with a new nighttime routine. Try ending your day with a book or journaling instead of scrolling.
As you test out different habits, try tracking them so you can see how they impact how you feel over time. Which leads us to the next step.
📱 Start tracking your health
This is a habit in itself, and it can take some time to get used to. But it might be one of the most valuable habits you build this year.
When you track your health, you start to understand your body on a deeper level. You begin to recognize patterns, identify triggers, and see what actually helps you feel better. That sense of understanding can be incredibly empowering.
Folia was built for people living with rare and complex conditions, but it is designed in a way that allows you to track anything. And we mean anything.
You can track how your water intake affects your mood, how different bedtimes impact your energy, or how daily habits influence your symptoms. The more consistent you are, the more insight you gain.
Instead of guessing, you start making decisions based on real data about your own body.
📅 Schedule the appointments you have been putting off
We have all been there. Putting off appointments happens, but this is a great time to get them on the calendar.
Whether it is your annual physical, a dentist visit, bloodwork, or even something like meeting with your accountant, scheduling it is often the hardest part. Once it is booked, it is one less thing to carry mentally.
If you are using Folia, you can also set reminders for upcoming appointments directly in the app. Even more importantly, tracking your health ahead of time means you walk into those appointments prepared.
You are not relying on memory alone. You have real data, clear patterns, and specific talking points. That can completely change the quality of your conversations with your care team.
Spring does not have to be a full reset. It can simply be a moment to check in, make a few small changes, and move forward with intention.
